Sony Xperia Z2 unveiled with 20.7 MP Camera and 2.3 GHz Quad Core Processor

The Sony Xperia Z2 unvieled by the company yesterday is a slightly abridged version of the Xperia Z1 launched last year. Xperia Z2 has come with some great features that one can be really impressed and some major changes included.

The Xperia Z2 is equipped with a Quad-core 2.3GHz Krait400 CPU on Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB RAM, a microSD card slot supporting upto 64GB, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, LTE and run on latest Android 4.4 Kitkat. The key upgrade is the 5.2 inch screen with 1080p resolution with Triluminous IPS display, a technology used previously with the Bravia TVs with excellent display but discontinued due to its excessive manufacturing costs, the display is quite sharp with good viewing angles and outdoor visibility.

The Primary camera on the back is a cool 20.7 MP with a capacity to capture video at 4K @30fps has a 1/ 2.3 inch CMOS f2.0 aperture and 27mm G-Lens. The Xperia Z2 has been added with some new camera features like dedicated modes, Background Defocus and Timeshift video mode. The Z2 is also IP58 certified thus can effectively resist dust and water damage to an extent.

The phone has a battery packed with 3200mAh and a major advantage to have the phone running through the daily standard working scenario and would generally support for a decent full day usage.

Wrapping up with a rugged build, a great 5.2 inch Triluminous Display, which in some ways is better than AMOLED, a Quad-Core 2.3Ghz Processor, 20.7 MP camera and all the other features is still only a tad bit taller than the predecessor Z1 but a little thinner and weighs only 158gms.

The phone is expected to be launched in March priced at around £600, with color choices of Black White and Purple.
