Mozilla releases Firefox 27
|Mozilla officially released Firefox 27 for Android, Mac, Linux and Windows, all the existing users can automatically upgrade to the latest vesrion. Some of the upgrades and enhancements are Transport Layer Security 1.2 Support, Simultaneous Social API notifications and Additional Language Support for Android.
What is new in Firefox 27:
Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 Support, which was originally proposed in 2008 has been finally released now to enhance the security and support data transferred. TLS is introduced in both the desktop and mobile versions.
Simultaneous Social API Notifications support, this allows various Social Networking and Services sites to integrate directly into Firefox for simultaneous notifications from all the registered services that attach themselves with Firefox 27.
Mozilla initially introduced Social Sites like Facebook, MSN Now, Weibo, Mixi, Cliqz in Firefox 17 in November 2012, the latest additions with this version are Delicious and Saavn. Additionally now more than one Social Site can be run for notifications.
The change list includes:
- NEW :Added Lithuanian, Slovenian, South African English and Thai to android multi-locale builds
- CHANGED:Enabled TLS 1.1 (RFC 4346) and TLS 1.2 (RFC 5246) by default
- CHANGED: UI improvements due to rewrite of favicon system (see 914296)
- CHANGED: Removed overscrolling on web content (see 705246)
- CHANGED: Experience better readability with default font set to Clear Sans
- DEVELOPER: Ability to reset style sheets using ‘all:unset’
- DEVELOPER: You can now choose to deobfuscate javascript in the debugger (see 762761)
- DEVELOPER: Implemented allow-popups directive for iframe sandbox, enabling increased security (see 766282)
- DEVELOPER: CSS cursor keywords -moz-grab and -moz-grabbing have been unprefixed (see 880672)
- DEVELOPER: Added support for ES6 generators in SpiderMonkey (see blog post)
- DEVELOPER: Implemented support for mathematical function Math.hypot() in ES6 (see 896264)
- HTML5: Dashed line support on Canvas (see 768067)
- FIXED: Flash doesn’t work with Android 4.4 KitKat (see 935676)

The news is also out that Mozilla is about to release Firefox 28 in March 2014, so wrapping our heads on the latest enhancements may be postponed till a little later for March when we can get a newer upgrade anyway.
